Resilience and solidarity - Book Between July and December 2011, Thailand’s worst flooding in at least a generation swept through almost every one of the country’s provinces. Nearly one in five people were affected in some way and hundreds of people lost their lives. The response to the floods was similarly remarkable. Throughout the crisis, standing alongside communities and helping them to prepare for, respond to, and recover from the floods, was the Thai Red Cross Society. In 2012, the International Red Cross published a book to commemorate its involvement during this catastrophe. This publication contains information concerning the Red Cross’ intervention and it is illustrated by photos, a good number of which were taken by Félix Genêt-Laramboise.
